Colorado Early Intervention: Various Dates -see below
This training is for family members and other caregivers who are interested in learning more about Colorado's Early Intervention system. The training helps individuals to understand:
* What Early Intervention is and how it may benefit families in Colorado;
* The steps in the Early Intervention process;
* The important role parents and caregivers have in helping your child learn and
grow; and
* How Colorados Early Intervention system will support you as you help your child
learn and grow.
While all of the dates, times and locations for this training are not final, we could not wait to start getting the word out. Here is what we know so far:
Canon City April 1, from 10:00 am 12:00 pm
Evans - April 19, from 11:30 am 3:00 pm
Cortez April 30, time to be determined
Alamosa May 1, from 1:00 4:00 pm
Westminster (North Metro Denver) - May 28 from 5:00 8:00 pm

For the Dads: of Kids with Disabilities
FREE and On Your Schedule
The Lifelong Responsible Fatherhood Programs offers FREE parenting groups and counseling in your home or at their office.
For parenting support in being a more effective parent and improving your relationship with your kids, they offer groups on parenting a child with disabilities and Dad support groups.
For support for relationships among the grown-ups, there is help with improving communication with your partner and improving family life. They offer couples and family counseling, individual counseling, and group counseling / support.

Taking Charge!: A Five-Session Course in Advocacy and Leadership for Young Adults with Disabilities
This course is recommended for people who have participated in Person-Centered Planning (for example, a Life Building Workshop or a PATH plan) and want more information and help to move ahead with their plans.
