Aileen McGinley is the Executive Director. She has worked at the Arc of Denver for over 10 years. She has a BA in Liberal Arts. Ms. McGinley has 29 years experience in the field of developmental disabilities in three states. The past 17 years of this experience has been in advocacy for individuals, systems change, and community development. She has worked in management for 11 years, the past 7 years of which years have been as our Executive Director. She has administered various private and state funded projects targeting systems change in the areas of family support, criminal justice, and self-determination.

Jennifer Archibald is a Health Care Advocate for Adults. She has a MSW from the University of Denver with a focus upon advanced community practice, leadership, and advocacy. She also holds a MA from the University of Denver in International Human Rights with a Global Health Affairs Certificate. Her BA is in Anthropology, from the University of Utah. She began working at the Arc of Denver in February of 2007. She has two years of non-profit experience, including work for the United Nations.

Michael Breeskin is Counsel for the Arc of Denver. He has held that position for more than five years. He has a Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center. He was Senior Attorney of a non-profit organization that was designated by the Governor as the Protection and Advocacy System for people with disabilities in Colorado.

Ken Dwenger is an Advocate for Adults. He has a BS in Computer Science from Purdue University; 28 years experience in the private sector; 20 years in middle management with up to 30 direct reporting employees. He has justified and managed annual budgets in excess of $15 million. He retired from the telecommunications industry. He has worked at the Arc of Denver for over 5 years. He has been an advisor to the People First chapters (a self advocacy organization for people with developmental disabilities) for over eight years. Mr. Dwenger also works with Colorado Developmental Disabilities Services on the Customer Satisfaction, Self-Determination, Quality Assurance and Critical Incident Tracking Committees.

Lizabeth J. Foster, Database Manager is new with the Arc of Denver thanks to the generous support of The Colorado Health Foundation. Lizabeth is a data usability and functional specialist who has managed Public Health and Human Services data for over 15 years. She has national and international experience in computer training and project management. She has worked on a federal contract with The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developing the National AIDS Clearinghouse's (NPIN/NAC) Education Database. Most recently, Lizabeth worked on a federal contract with The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), as the Manger of the Information Resources Library and Databases with The National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI). Ms. Foster holds a BFA in Design with a minor in Education and a BA in Communications Research and Sociology, both from the University of Maryland. She is a current member of the Rocky Mountain Special Libraries Association RMSLA; Colorado Medical Libraries Association (CMLA) and the Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL).

Gloria Martinez is the Receptionist. She has worked at the Arc of Denver for over 13 years. She fields our daily calls and requests for advocacy, referrals, and informational resources.

Anthony “Tony” Sears is an Advocate for Adults. He has a BA in Psychology. He has worked at the Arc of Denver for over 9 years. He has worked in the Mental Health field for over 19 years, the past ten of which have been in the Developmental Disabilities field. Additionally, he works with public agencies and advocacy organizations in crisis intervention, criminal justice, dual diagnosis (Developmental Disabilities and Mental Health), and RTD’s Access-A-Ride Appeals Committee.

Agnès Sonnenfeld is Director of Finance and Internal Projects. She has worked at the Arc of Denver for over 7 years. She worked in the private sector for over 10 years. She has grant development experience in different arenas. She has served in various capacities on the boards of Temple Micah, Coloradans for Family Support, Denver Options Family Support and Services Council, and Parent/Teacher organizations. She is a parent of three children, one of whom is a son with physical and developmental disabilities. Ms. Sonnenfeld has coordinated training for families of children with developmental disabilities and for young adults with developmental disabilities for over thirteen years.

Jennifer Tavares is the statewide Speaking For Ourselves coordinator for a network of local People First chapters. She is currently an Americorps VISTA Volunteer who has been with us since August 2006. She previously worked at a nonprofit consulting company and as an assistant recruiter for CH2M HILL in Milwaukee. She also holds a BA in Literature from Wheaton College.

Ian Watlington is an Advocate for Children. He has a BA in Sociology with a Minor in Political Science, and is certified to teach English as a Second Language. He has worked as an advocate within the educational system for over six years. He has held the following distinguished positions in recent years, Chairperson of Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council, Colorado Board of Education-Colorado Special Education Advisory Committee, Director on the Board of The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People, Board Treasurer with the Community Parent Resource Center in Denver.
